To unifyall stakeholders in the hospitality sector to contribute effectively to climate action, recognizingthat their activity can contribute to the global reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and progress towards the global goal of achieving carbon neutrality, as soon as possible, by 2050.
This is the objective pursued by the Sharm El Sheikh Declaration:
The commitment of the hospitality industry on the path of action of 1.5°C,a proposal to value the capacity of the sector in the fight against climate change. In this way, it invites hoteliers around the world to work for climate ambition in favor of a model capable of giving a real and transcendent response towards a decarbonized economy.

Itarises from a pioneering initiative in the world to promote climate action in a key sector for the Spanish economy, the Hospitality #PorElClima platform.The capillarity of the sector, which represents 6.2% of the Spanish Gross Domestic Product, makes the hospitality industry a capital industry not only for its economic contribution, but also for the positive impact it can generate in its environment, both from a social and environmental point of view.

And with the strategic collaboration of Hospitality of Spain, Hospitality #PorElClima goes beyond awareness to combat climate change. It is a platform to mobilize the hospitality sector and contribute to its transformation to adapt it to the demands of a society increasingly sensitive to environmental issues. Its main goal is to make it easier for hoteliers to take that step, offering them tools, information and action guidelines so that they can become carbon-neutral establishments, in line with the Paris Agreement.
